Hotel Planter, a renovated National Historic InnBy car, LaConner, Washington is about one hour north of Seattle and about the same south from Bellingham on Interstate 5. From Seattle northbound on I-5 take exit 221 (Highway 534) to Conway, turn west (left) over I-5, then turn right on Fir Island Road and follow the signs to LaConner. From Bellingham southbound on I-5 take exit 230 (Highway 20) heading westbound (right) toward Anacortes. At the stoplight of the LaConner-Whitney Road turn left and follow the signs to LaConner. We have a guest loading zone adjacent to the Hotel and street parking is unrestricted and free.

Once off I-5 you will begin to see many acres of the Skagit Valley. Depending on the season you may see it filled with migrating Snow Geese or Trumpeter Swans, fields upon fields of flowers or our farmer's vegetables. We encourage you to stop at one of the many local roadside stands and enjoy our fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, as well as, our local fishermen's bounties from Puget Sound.

By train, Amtrak Cascades Commuter train from Seattle to Vancouver, BC stops once daily in Mt. Vernon. Skagit Transit, 360-299-2424 provides public transportation throughout the county.

By air, visitors can fly into Sea-Tac International Airport about 1 1/2 hours south of LaConner. Airporter Shuttle is available or follow driving directions for Northbound I-5. Private planes may land at Skagit Regional Airport or the Anacortes Municipal Airport. Ground arrangements will need to be made from either airport to LaConner.

By boat, LaConner is accessible from the Swinomish Channel. Transient moorage is available in the LaConner Marina, at the north end of the channel or you may look for moorage on individual docks. Information signs are posted as to which are public or private docks.

Rumor has it, during Tulip Festival, The Victoria Clipper will be providing service to La Conner from Seattle's Pier 69 with bus tours of the fields.
